Thesis On Pir Sensor Based Security System

The project is on a passive infrared (PIR) based automatic door alarm system used in places like shopping malls, hotels and theatres. This project proposes a system of automatic sensing any body movement object near the door. This is achieved with help of a PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor. A live body generally emits infrared energy which is sensed by the PIR sensor from a considerable distance. This sensing signal is fed to an integrated circuit to trigger a buzzer.
When a body approaches within the operating range of the sensor, it sends a logical command through an alarm indicating that someone is approaching the door. If there is no further movement within the PIR operating range.

Home security or can be achieved by adopting central controllers to control home devices or appliances that sense different variables using appropriate sensors. The main aspect of such a system is a that collects the parameter information like temperature, fire, human presence, gas, etc., and sends the corresponding data to the microcontroller or any other processor. This controller is programmed such that when these parameters cross their prescribed limits, it sends the command signals to various final controlling devices like relays, motors and buzzer devices.

Security is a big challenge everywhere because thefts are increasing day by day owing to the unsafe and insecure security systems in homes, commercial complexes and industries. Several conventional technologies are available to keep home properties safe from intruders, but most common smart work on . Such systems provide security from natural, incidental, intended, unintended, accidental and human made problems by continuously monitoring homes with different sensory systems like motion, smoke, gas, temperature, glass break or door break detectors and fire alarm systems.

The main principle of the circuit is to provide security. This is based on PIR sensor with an IC that produces siren. The PIR sensor detects the IR radiations emitted from the humans and it produces an output. Thus it produces the sound when any human is detected.

1.2 OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
The objective of this work is to secure our home from intruders more especially in a home security personnel is not used. It indicates when a door is open. This system alerts the resident even when they are sleeping whenever someone enters their premises.

Connections for arduino based door opener circuit are shown in the above diagram. Here a PIR sensor is used for sensing human motion which has three terminals Vcc, GND and Dout. Dout is directly connected to pin number 14 (A0) of arduino uno. A 16x2 LCD is used for displaying the status. RS, EN pins of LCD connected to 13 and 12 of arduino and data pins D0-D7 are connected to arduino digital pin numbers 11, 10, 9, 8. RW is directly connected to ground. L293D motor driver is connected to arduino pin 0 and 1 for opening and closing the gate. Here in circuit we have used a motor for gate.
