Febex also has the capacity to change the type of acid used for this synthesis. We provide tailor-made products adapted to the specificities of each market. Depending on the request, we can also use Phosphoric Acid, Hypophosphorous Acid or any other type of strong acid instead of hydrochloric or sulphuric acid.

The crystallized phosphoric acid is conditioned in 25 kg buckets.

THPC, chloride salt, is used as a precursor for permanent flame retardant treatment for cotton/ polyester. The formation of a water soluble, pre-polymer THPC/urea, is applied to the textile. The textile is then treated in an ammonia furnace in order to produce a phosphorous/nitrogen polymer embedded in the web of the fabric, thus guaranteeing a permanent treatment.

Polyphosphoric acid for synthesis | VWR

Successful treatment has been reported, particularly for early manifestations of manganese poisoning, using calcium EDTA and other chelating agents derived from polyamino-polyphosphoric acid (Mihajlov et al., 1967; Arhipova et al., 1968).

Use of PPA cleanly affords the () isomer whereas other methods provide only the () isomers or mixtures of () and () isomers (eq 29). Other nitrogen-containing heterocyclic systems which can be obtained using PPA include benzimidazoles (eq 30) and triazoles (eq 31).Diphenylfurans are formed in higher yields with PPA than with sulfuric acid, , or phosphorus pentoxide as the dehydrating/cyclization agent (eq 32). Similar to cyclization of aromatic acids to form aromatic cyclic ketones, the replacement of the benzylic methylene group with an oxygen affords chromanones in good yield (eq 33). The structurally related flavones can be prepared by an intramolecular 1,4-addition catalyzed by PPA (eq 34). Seven-membered rings which contain oxygen, such as benzoxepinones, can be made in good yield from 4-phenoxybutyric acids (eq 35). Benzofurans are formed in good yield by cyclization of -phenoxy ketones (eq 36). Thienopyrroles are obtained by ring closure of a pyrrolecarboxylic acid (eq 37).The same characteristics which facilitate cyclizations, such as media with low nucleophilicity, good solvation power, relatively mild acidity, and low oxidation potential, are also conducive to clean, high-yielding acid-catalyzed rearrangements.
