EA Programme has the following five tracks (specialisations) according to their main areas of study and theoretical and methodological orientations. Students must choose one after consultation with the EA Programme Committee, but which specialisation students can and should take depends largely on their academic background as well as their supervisors. Regarding the list of courses offered in each specialisation, there is no strict regulation apart from some recommended curriculum models and course works. Instead, each specialisation has one or two international partner universities. Students are given an opportunity to take part in an exchange programme and receive joint supervision with some of these partner universities.

Sustainable Development Master Thesis

This semester starts with focus on the design of environmental studies to lay the foundation for the students’ theses as well as for their future professional work. The remaining time is devoted to specialisation courses, where we offer a range of options to deepen the students’ knowledge and skills in, for example, climate change visualisation, urban sustainability and water management. We also have unique courses where students work closely with senior teaching staff to train specific research skills.
Students can also perform an internship either in Sweden or abroad where they carry out a specific task which links to the activities of the chosen organisation and the students’ future professional interests. Besides these courses there are also possibilities for studies at other universities in Sweden or abroad.
