Implant Supported Overdentures - Oral Health Group

I went on a few consultations and picked a surgeon to do a capsulectomy and lift. The original surgeon overfilled my implants and it had a dent on one side, he failed to tell me they had “tissues and particles ” in the surgical biopsy report and one tear. He did a second saline surgery by overfilling even more despite requests to be smaller and my symptoms from hell began about six months later.
This new surgeon tells me on surgery day that I should be prepared for a mastectomy surgery because that’s what I will look like afterwards. He says my delicate breast tissue underneath has been destroyed by the weight of these things. I am devastated that my options with a reputable surgeon are these. Do you have any advice because I can’t fathom more implants after suffering these symptoms and side effects, im married/36, and am not ready to look butchered either.

Thank you so much for this information. Fifteen years ago saline implants were implanted in me. Ten years ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and have been in a health decline over the past few years. Although I am active…play golf and pickleball and garden…I am ALWAYS sore with muscle aches and joint pain. And there is no family history of this. I’ve experimented with diet and that does not seem to lessen the paint and discomfort of my joints and muscles. In addition, I have a terrible sleep disorder, short of breath at times and overall fatigue. Additionally, I experience many of the symptoms on the list above. I am going to research who would be a good medical professional to remove them.
Again, thank you so much for compiling this information…it has been very very helpful.

In the late 1990’s, I experienced most of these symptoms about every 3-6 months with the bouts lasting about 2 weeks. During a typical bout, my breast near the edge of the implant becomes very tender and sore, then the tissues around the implant harden and squeeze the implant (it hurts) over several days. Then, the pain travels up into my armpit and covers the whole left chest area. During all this, I run a fever, have body aches, and feel like I have the flu. After about 2 weeks, the tissue around the breast relaxes and I begin to feel better. Over the years, these episodes became less frequent to about once a year, then 1 every 2 years, etc. I haven’t had a bout in maybe 5 years before this one now. But, during these past bouts, I had no hair loss or swollen glands with neck pain and trouble swallowing. I now believe this is all breast implant illness and will review your facebook and other information so I can do what is necessary (when I can afford it) to have these removed.

Does anyone know of any doctors that support this? I face every issue here but I need to talk to doctors to back up everything im reading about here. If itisnt from a doctor, then it unfortunately has no validity. I’m trying to be very particular about who removes my implants because there are side effects in getting them removed. If you have contacts please let me know. Thank you!

Hello, Thinking of how to start this conversation, I have thousands of questions running through my head. So please bare with me and sorry in advance. Ok I will start from the beging, I have a severe nickel allergy and wanted breast implants. I asked my surgeon to find out if implants contain nickel or any other metals.. As if that were the case I would have to querey other avenues to improve what I had. My surgeon guaranteed me that implants dont contain any metals. Which I loved. 🙂 So In December 2015 I had Gel 300cc implants put in. WHICH were meant to make me more body confident and happy. But lets just say the surgery ended so far from happy its a actual joke.
Within the week I had infections and a rash on my body. I tried teling my surgeon who told me he wouldn’t even see my symptoms and told me to go seek advice from my GP I ended up having constant bad headaches ,ear aches , stomache problem, extreme fatigue, hand and feet numbness, poor blood flow, low blood pressure, bad anxiety, bad bruising, slow healing wounds, infections I lost my eye brow hair my immune system is attacking my body.
I went to specalists after specialists my surgeon finally started listening to me when I went in crying with no eyebrow hair, rash over my body I was in a bad way my family doctor was concerned and he referred me to have them removed asap.
My surgeon still didnt believe me but said he wanted me to have in writting by a doctor that I was actual allergic to Nickel. So cut long story short Done all the tests… Than chased down the surgeon to show results was treated like a burden by the whole practice. Fast forward 7 months of crap…
I had the plant’s removed on the 13th July 2016 a few of my symptoms got better. But I have lost all of my hair and still no eyebrows. If I come into contact with any nickel my reaction is ridiculous this included foods containg nickel. SO getting to my question when does it stop? Is this similar to anyones story? Doctors dont believe that my symptoms have any connection to breat implants reasons being they dont believe implants contain any metals and that a allergy to metal can result in immune system disfunction. Hopefully someone can tell me Im not crazy..

Implant overdentures, introduction | Treatment …

I had silicone implant over 27 years ago, i had issues right of the bat with capsular contraction in the left breast. The surgeons solution was to squeeze the contracture till it broke. ?? really. This happened over 3 times till it was discovered that i had a rupture. New surgeon, removed the silicone implant and any residue left, then replaced the implants with saline, this was 25 years ago. The left breast is now feeling very “tight” slight hardening and rippling. I also have the deepest itch, deep in the tissue of my breast. Rash under each breast, dry eyes, fatigue, malaise, and many more symptoms. I want these implants taken out!! I live 3 hours away from our closest major city where I will have to travel for first a consult, then a surgery. I am scared, but I know I will feel better once they are out of my body. I am terrified to have a mammogram, as I feel they will break during the exam, and there is no surgeon in my city that would be able to remove the implants if they rupture. I am on this site for support, for advice and information. Thanks for sharing.
