How do plants make food (photosynthesis basics)?
During the process of photosynthesis, carbon dioxide plus water in the presence of sunlight, enzymes and chlorophyll produce glucose and oxygen as waste product.
How does light intensity and duration affect plant growth?
Through reading various books and web pages it was made clear that carbon dioxide is definitely one of the raw materials needed for photosynthesis, but I wanted to see whether this is actually true and if carbon dioxide is taken away completely will the plant photosynthesize at all.
The Biology Extended Essay Topics Photosynthesis Diagram Cover Up
I think this because the plant may use up all of the carbon dioxide (Sodium hydro carbonate) and the plant can have as much light as it needs but if it does not have any carbon dioxide it will not be able to photosynthesise....
Effects of different colors of light on the photosynthesis rate.
· The smaller of the two seedlings was then removed from each pot and
they were separated into two groups of six plants, one group was put
next to a window with plenty of sunlight and the other was put inside
a cupboard with no light.
They do this by a process called Photosynthesis.
Also, the plants
grown in the light will have a greener pigment than those grown in the
dark although this is not something being measured in this experiment.
Can photosynthesis occur at Saturn or Mars?
This process is also affected by the temperature surrounding the plant (the species of plant we experimented with, pond weed, photosynthesised best at around 20 degrees centigrade.) Light, temperature & CO2 are known as limiting factors, and each is as important as the next in photosynthes...
